The terms REALTOR®, REALTORS®, and REALTOR-ASSOCIATE® are trademarked by the NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS® (NAR) for the exclusive use of its members. The REALTOR® block "R" logo is also trademarked.Members of the REALTOR® organization are entitled to use the trademarks on business cards, websites, signs and other advertising materials.
Below are some general guidelines for using the trademarks. Detailed explanations on how to use the mark can be found in the Membership Marks Manual.
- The terms REALTOR® or REALTOR-ASSOCIATE® should only be used to refer to someone who is a member of the REALTOR® organization.
- Irrespective of local dialect and custom, the term REALTOR® has but one pronunciation:

Members are encouraged to carefully train new employees and salespeople, particularly receptionists, on the proper pronunciation of the term REALTOR®. - The preferred method of using the terms is through use of all capital letters (e.g., REALTOR®, REALTORS® and REALTOR-ASSOCIATE®). When the preferred all-capital form is used, the federal registration symbol "®" must also be included unless its use is not possible.
