NEW JERSEY ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS® (NJAR®) ANNOUNCES 2008 OFFICERS
Absecon Resident Drew Fishman Installed as 2008 President
(Atlantic City, NJ)
The New Jersey Association of REALTORS®
(NJAR) last night installed its 2008
officers during the President's Gala, which
took place during the annual Triple Play
REALTOR® Convention and Trade Expo in
Atlantic City.
2008 NJAR® President Drew Fishman of
Absecon was installed along with
President-Elect Diane Dilzell, First Vice
President Robert Southwick and Treasurer
Christina Banasiak. In his role as president
of the 55,000-member Association, Fishman
will help support NJAR®'s mission to serve
the professional needs of its members,
develop programs and services to enhance the
ability to conduct business successfully and
ethically, and to serve as an advocate for
private property rights and the real estate
industry.

is a broker/sales associate at RE/MAX
Atlantic in Northfield, N.J., Fishman has
been a member of the REALTOR® organization
since entering the real estate business in
1984.
Prior to his election as NJAR® president,
Fishman held several leadership positions
with NJAR® including president-elect, first
vice president, and professional development
division officer. Over the years, he has
been a member of the bylaws, budget and
finance, communications and public
relations, professional development and
political affairs committees.
In 2004 and 2005, Fishman served as
president of the Atlantic City & County
Board of REALTORS®. In 1996, the Atlantic
City & County Board of REALTORS® selected
Fishman as REALTOR® of the Year. He was
granted the board's President's Award in
1995. In addition to his service to the
Atlantic City Board, Fishman was president
of the South Jersey Shore Multiple Listing
Service, and is currently on its board of
directors.
Fishman's commitment to the REALTOR®
organization extends to the national level
where he serves as a director and delegate
to the NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS®
(NAR) board of directors. He is a member of
the land use, property rights & environment
committee.
A resident of Absecon, N.J., Fishman
serves as chairman of the Absecon planning
board. Fishman is a recipient of the New
Jersey Planning Officials Distinguished
Service Award and has served as director for
the organization since 1995. He is active in
numerous charities including Gilda's Club,
Habitat for Humanity, Race for the Cure, and
Children's Miracle Network.
President-Elect Diane Dilzell, CRS,
e-PRO is a broker/manager at RE/MAX
Pinnacle of Bedminster who joined the
REALTOR® organization in 1989. Over the
years, Dilzell has served NJAR® as a
division officer, chairperson, and member of
numerous committees. In addition, she is a
trustee for the NJAR® Educational
Foundation.
In 2002, Dilzell served as president of
the Hunterdon/Somerset Association of
REALTORS® (HSAR) and was selected
as HSAR's REALTOR® of the Year. Dilzell is
currently a member of the NATIONAL
ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS® (NAR) housing needs
committee and an NAR director. In 2003
and 2004, Dilzell served as president of the
Council of Residential Specialists New
Jersey Chapter. The Chapter offers
networking and educational opportunities to
members who have achieved the Certified
Residential Specialist (CRS) designation. In
2001, Dilzell was named New Jersey CRS of
the Year.
Dilzell is an active volunteer for
numerous organizations throughout Somerset
and Hunterdon counties including Habitat for
Humanity and People for Animals. She is a
trustee on the Somerset County Coalition on
Affordable Housing and an associate member
of the Bedminster-Far Hills First Aid Squad.
First Vice President Robert Southwick,
e-PRO joined the REALTOR® organization
in 1989. He is currently a broker/associate
at Weidel, REALTORS® in Princeton, N.J.
Southwick previously served on the NJAR®
leadership team as treasurer in 2004 and
2005. He held the position of industry
advocacy division officer in 2007 and
professional conduct division officer in
2006. Over the years, Southwick has served
on numerous committees and is currently a
trustee of the NJAR® Housing Opportunity
Foundation, Inc.
On a local level, Southwick served as
president of the Mercer County Association
of REALTORS®. In 2004, he was named REALTOR®
of the Year by the Mercer County Association
of REALTORS®. In 2006 and 2007 he served as
chair of the Mercer County Association of
REALTORS® government and legislative affairs
committee. Nationally, Southwick is a member
of the NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS®
(NAR) land use, property rights and
environment committee and an NAR director.
Southwick is a 20-year resident of South
Brunswick and chairman of the South
Brunswick Township Planning Board. In 2007,
he served as chairman of the South Brunswick
Township Master Plan Review Subcommittee. He
is vice chair of the Middlesex County
Agricultural Development Commission and a
member of the Middlesex County
Transportation Review Committee. In addition
to his civic volunteer activities, Southwick
is an active volunteer for Habitat for
Humanity and is the vice chairman for the
South Brunswick YMCA Capital Campaign.
Treasurer Christina Banasiak, CRS,
e-PRO received her real estate license
in 1979 and her broker's license in 1982.
She is currently a broker/associate at
Weichert REALTORS®-Marlboro office.
Since joining the REALTOR® organization
in 1979, Banasiak has served NJAR® in many
different capacities. At the state level she
held the post of professional conduct
division officer in 2007. In previous years,
she served as professional development
division officer and chair of the convention
and by-laws committees.
Banasiak was elected to serve as
president of the Monmouth County Association
of REALTORS® (MCAR) in 2005 and 2006.
Banasiak was named MCAR REALTOR® of the Year
in 1997 and 2006. She has also been a member
of numerous other local committees including
budget & finance, bylaws, managers council,
and public relations.
Banasiak served the NATIONAL ASSOCIATION
OF REALTORS® as a director from 2002 to
2004. Most recently, she served on the
multiple listing issues and policy committee
and federal taxation committee. She is a
member of the Women's Council of REALTORS®.
Banasiak currently resides in Jackson, N.J.
with her husband and is active in local and
national charities.
