REALTORS® Recognize November as Designation Awareness Month

Courses available at Triple Play REALTOR® Convention in December

(Edison, NJ) Throughout November, the New Jersey Association of REALTORS® (NJAR®) recognizes REALTOR® Designation Awareness Month, a time to encourage members to start, continue or complete the courses leading to one of the official NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS® (NAR)-endorsed designations or certifications available to members of the REALTOR® organization.

"Obtaining a designation or certification, is a great way for REALTORS® to learn more about different areas of real estate," said NJAR® President Bill Hanley. "Designation courses cover specialized knowledge REALTORS® need to compete in a changing marketplace. Earning a designation or certification will help REALTORS® who are looking to either expand their business or develop a niche market."

NAR has nine affiliated institutes, societies, and councils that offer designation and/or certification courses that cover a variety of topics including brokerage management, property management, land consultation, buyer representation, working with senior citizens, commercial investment, international property, appraisal, and resort and second home markets. Although other designations exist, only these carry an official NAR endorsement. For a complete list of the official NAR family of designations and certifications, visit www.realtor.org/education.

Several designation and certification courses will be offered at the 2007 Triple Play REALTOR® Convention & Trade Expo at the Atlantic City Convention Center in the first week of December. Triple Play is sponsored by the New Jersey, New York State and Pennsylvania associations of REALTORS®. Courses that will be offered include: Accredited Buyer Representative (ABR) elective - Foreclosure Opportunities for Buyers/Clients; Certified Real Estate Brokerage Manager (CRB) course - Managing & Leading Teams; Certified Residential Specialist (CRS) course - Building an Exceptional Customer Service Referral Business; Resort and Second-home Property Specialist (RSPS) elective - Institute of Real Estate Management - Managing Small Business Properties; and Seniors Real Estate Specialist (SRES) course - Senior Real Estate Specialist. For more information and to register for these courses, visit www.realtorstripleplay.com. Triple Play pre-registration ends November 15, 2007.

Additional designation courses are offered throughout the year by NJAR® and New Jersey's local boards/associations of REALTORS®. For a complete list of educational events, REALTORS® may visit www.njar.com/education/calendar.php.
