NJAR® ANNOUNCES NEW EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT
Jarrod C. Grasso, RCE, to take helm of 55,000-member association
(Edison, NJ) The New Jersey Association of REALTORS® (NJAR®) is pleased to announce that Jarrod C. Grasso, RCE will take on the role of executive vice president (EVP) of NJAR® effective January 1, 2008. The NJAR® Board of Directors unanimously approved the recommendation for Grasso to fill the position at its September 11, 2007 meeting. Grasso will replace current NJAR® EVP Joyce Andreoli, who is retiring after more than 40 years of service to the Association.
"We are thrilled to have someone of Jarrod's level of expertise and experience lead our Association," said NJAR® 2007 President Bill Hanley. "Over his tenure at NJAR® he has shown a true dedication to the REALTOR® organization and is a valuable asset both for NJAR® and the real estate marketplace in New Jersey."
In 1999, Grasso joined the Association as director of legislative affairs. He was soon promoted to government affairs director followed by another promotion to vice president of government affairs. In his role as NJAR® vice president of government affairs, Grasso has been the REALTORS®' voice in the state capital on important real estate industry issues such as protecting private property rights, defending against realty transfer fee increases, promoting homeownership opportunity and working with key legislators on ways to curtail eminent domain abuse. Since taking on the role of vice president in 2002, Grasso has become involved with all facets of the Association beyond his role of lobbying on state legislative and regulatory issues.
In his new position as EVP, Grasso will oversee all association operations and management practices including association governance and member services. He will continue to work closely with the 24 local boards/associations of REALTORS® in New Jersey and will represent NJAR® when dealing with issues that affect the Association at both the national and state levels.
"Jarrod has been an integral part of the growth and success of NJAR® since he joined the Association," said NJAR® EVP Joyce Andreoli. "Jarrod's vast experience, knowledge and understanding of the real estate industry on a local, state and national level are essential to moving the Association forward in its mission to promote the interests of our 55,000 REALTOR® and REALTOR-ASSOCIATE® members as well as the real estate industry."
In 2006, Grasso earned a Certificate in Nonprofit Management from Duke University, a program sponsored by the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR). He currently holds the REALTOR® Certified Executive (RCE) designation, distinguishing him as one of approximately 250 REALTOR® association executives across the country who has achieved the designation. Grasso served two years on the NAR Land Use, Property Rights and Environment Committee. He is a graduate of Castleton State College in Vermont. Prior to coming to NJAR® Grasso was employed by the New Jersey Assembly Majority Office in Trenton, where he was a policy analyst and served as committee aide to the Assembly Banking and Insurance, and Labor Committees.
"It is an honor to be selected as the next executive vice president of NJAR®," said Grasso. "The Association serves as the voice for private property owners and the real estate industry on many key issues. I look forward to advancing NJAR®'s mission and guiding the Association in its future endeavors."
