NJAR® President-Elect Prepares for 2008 Leadership Role
Drew Fishman of RE/MAX Atlantic in Northfield, attends NAR annual Leadership Summit
EDISON, N.J. -- New
Jersey Association of REALTORS® (NJAR®)
President-Elect Drew Fishman, CRS attended
the NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS® (NAR)
annual Leadership Summit August 16-17 in
Chicago, Ill. along with other association
leaders from across the country. The Summit
prepares presidents-elect and executive
officers of state and local associations,
commercial boards and structures, regional
MLSs, and national institutes, societies,
and councils for their future leadership
roles.
"The Summit is a great way to interact
with REALTOR® association presidents and
learn more about associations in other
states," said Fishman. "Attending the Summit
has better prepared me to take on the role
as 2008 president of NJAR®. I look forward
to being an integral part of moving the
Association forward in its mission to
support all segments of our membership by
developing ways to enhance our members'
ability to conduct business successfully and
ethically."
NJAR®'s membership of 55,000 REALTORS® is
composed of commercial and residential
brokers and salespeople, property managers,
appraisers, counselors and other real estate
professionals who have pledged to subscribe
to a strict Code of Ethics.
A REALTOR® since 1984, Fishman is a
broker/sales associate at RE/MAX Atlantic in
Northfield, N.J. His involvement with NJAR®
over the years includes serving as first
vice president and professional development
division officer. He has also been a member
of the bylaws, budget and finance,
communications and public relations,
professional development and political
affairs committees. On a national level,
Fishman currently is a director of and
served as a delegate to NAR. He participates
on the national land use, property rights &
environment committee and previously served
on the public policy coordinating, and
political communications committees. On a
local level, Fishman served two years as
president of the Atlantic City & County
Board of REALTORS®. In 1996, the Atlantic
City & County Board of REALTORS® selected
him as REALTOR® of the Year. He was granted
the President's Award from the Atlantic City
& County Board of REALTORS® in 1995.
Fishman currently is director of the
South Jersey Shore Multiple Listing Service,
where he served as president in 2006. He is
listed in the RE/MAX Hall of Fame and has
been featured in the Who's Who Registry of
Business Leaders. He is a resident of
Absecon, where he serves as chairman of the
planning board, director of the New Jersey
Planning Officials, and is active in
numerous charities including: Habitat for
Humanity, Race for the Cure, Children's
Miracle Network, Gilda's House and
Children's Seashore House.
