NEW JERSEY ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS® (NJAR®) MARKS 90TH ANNIVERSARY
Association continues to support members and serve as an advocate for real estate industry
EDISON, N.J. - New Jersey
Association of REALTORS® (NJAR®) President
Bill Hanley kicked off the association's
90th anniversary year today, at the first
board of directors meeting of 2007. NJAR® is
a non-profit trade association serving the
professional needs of approximately 57,000
members in New Jersey.
"We are proud and excited to mark this
special time for our association," said
Hanley. "Today NJAR® is more than
57,000-members strong and remains steadfast
in its mission to serve the industry as the
‘Voice of Real Estate of New Jersey.'
Reaching this historic milestone is a true
testament to the hard work and success of
NJAR® and its members."
In December 1917, a group of 54 real estate
professionals met in Atlantic City and
formed the Real Estate League of New Jersey,
an organization that formed the basis of the
New Jersey Association of REALTORS®, or
NJAR®. Today, NJAR® is one of the largest
trade associations in New Jersey, and is
part of the nation's largest trade
organization, the National Association of
REALTORS® (NAR).
NJAR®'s mission is to support all segments of
its membership, in concert with the local
boards and associations of REALTORS® and
NAR, by developing and delivering programs,
services and related products which enhance
the ability to conduct business successfully
and ethically, and promote the extension and
preservation of the right to own, transfer
and use real property.
"Over the years, NJAR® has served homeowners
and the real estate industry as an advocate
for private property rights and
homeownership," said Hanley. "NJAR® continues
to remain at the forefront of legislative
issues that affect the home buying and
selling public of New Jersey in order to
encourage a healthy and vibrant real estate
marketplace."
NJAR®'s membership is composed of commercial
and residential brokers and salespeople,
property managers, appraisers, counselors
and other real estate professionals who have
pledged to subscribe to a strict Code of
Ethics.
