For Immediate Release: New Jersey Association of REALTORS® Educational Foundation Seeking Scholarship Applicants(Edison, NJ) The New Jersey Association of REALTORS® Educational Foundation (NJAREF) is seeking applicants for 31 scholarships, each ranging from $1,000 to $2,500. The scholarships are open to members of the New Jersey Association of REALTORS® (NJAR®) and relatives of NJAR® members and will be based upon academic achievement, financial need, and community involvement, among other criteria. High school seniors and students enrolled in undergraduate and graduate college programs may apply for the awards. Applicants may attend college out-of-state, but New Jersey residency is required for eligibility. "The NJAR® Educational Foundation supports higher education. The trustees are proud to award $44,750 in scholarships this year for students to expand their knowledge and pursue their dreams," said NJAREF President Tina Caggiano. "Past recipients of NJAREF scholarships have attended prestigious colleges and universities in and out of New Jersey and have had successful careers in real estate and other related industries." The 2006 scholarships available are: 1 $1,000 Award sponsored by the Citta Foundation in memory of Gertrude Stefanik 1 $1,000 Award sponsored by the Greater Union County Association of REALTORS® 1 $1,000 Award sponsored by the West Essex Board of REALTORS® 8 $1,250 General Awards sponsored by the New Jersey Association of REALTORS® Educational Foundation 2 $1,250 Awards sponsored by the New Jersey MLS 1 $1,250 Award sponsored by the New Jersey Chapter Certified Residential Specialists 1 $1,500 Award sponsored by the Stefanik Foundation in memory of Gertrude Stefanik 2 $1,500 General Awards sponsored by the New Jersey Association of REALTORS® Educational Foundation 10 $1,500 Awards Atlantic City & County Board of REALTORS®
Award 2 $2,000 Nancy Reynolds Memorial Awards 1 $2,000 Nutter/Schwartz Award sponsored by the Burlington Camden County Association of REALTORS® 1 $2,500 Award sponsored by the Monmouth County Association of REALTORS® in memory of Richard Hendrickson A non-profit organization, the Educational Foundation was established in 1969 to foster education, promote knowledge of, conduct research in, and assist in the education of students. The scholarship program is supported by NJAR® members and by New Jersey's local boards/associations of REALTORS®. Each year, numerous local boards/associations donate annual gifts "in memoriam" of members who have passed away. Since its inception, the NJAREF has awarded over $450,600 in scholarships.
