NJAR® Installs 2006 Officers
Sea Girt Resident Bonnie Fitzgerald Takes
Helm as President
(Atlantic City, NJ) The New Jersey
Association of REALTORS® (NJAR®) installed
the 2006 officers last night during a
ceremony at the three-day REALTOR® Triple
Play Convention and Trade Expo.
Bonnie Fitzgerald, GRI, CRB, CRS, of Sea
Girt, NJ was installed as the 2006
president. A second generation REALTOR®,
Fitzgerald began her real estate career in
1983. She is broker/owner of T.F. Byrne &
Co., Inc., with four offices located in
Brick, Lakewood, and Whiting, NJ.
Fitzgerald has served in numerous leadership
positions at the national, state and local
levels. At the state level, in 2005, she
served as NJAR® president-elect, as an RPAC
trustee and as a member of the legislative,
strategic issues, and budget and finance
committees. Fitzgerald was named REALTOR® of
the Year in 1999 by both the Ocean County
Board of REALTORS® (OCBR) and NJAR®
At the National Association of REALTORS®
(NAR), Fitzgerald is a member of the
multiple listing issues and policies
committee and an NAR Director. As a member
of the Ocean County Board of REALTORS®,
Fitzgerald is a member of the strategic
planning, personnel, multiple listing
service, budget and finance, professional
standards and RPAC committees. In 1999, she
served as president of OCBR and she
currently serves as a director.
Fitzgerald donates her time to various
organizations including Habitat for
Humanity, the Sea Girt Booster Club, Spring
Lake Sea Girt Little League, Sea Girt 5K,
Jersey Shore Pop Warner, Jersey Shore
Comets, Manasquan Warriors, and the American
Cancer Society.
President-Elect Bill Hanley of Somerset, NJ
has been a member of NJAR® since he began his
real estate career in 1980. He is a
broker/manager with Weichert, REALTORS® in
Metuchen, NJ. In 2005, Hanley served as NJAR®
first vice president, a trustee of the NJAR®
Housing Opportunity Foundation, Inc., and as
president of the NJAR® Educational
Foundation. As president of the NJAR®
Educational Foundation, Hanley and the
foundation trustees awarded scholarships to
NJAR® members and relatives of NJAR® members
pursuing higher education. Hanley has also
volunteered for many NJAR® committees, such
as the budget and finance, nominating,
legislative, strategic planning, and
professional standards committees.
Currently a member of the Middlesex County
Association of REALTORS® scholarship
committee, Hanley served as president of his
local board in 2002 and 2003. He has served
on the board of directors and as chair of
the scholarship committee. Hanley has also
served on the professional standards,
constitution and bylaws, budget and finance,
and technology committees. In 2000, he was
named REALTOR® of the Year by the Middlesex
County Association of REALTORS®. At the
national level, Hanley is an NAR Director
and sits on the risk management committee.
In 2004 and 2005, he served on the NAR
housing needs committee.
Hanley was selected as Weichert, REALTORS®
Manager of the Year in 2003. He is a
graduate of Westminster Choir College and
holds a Bachelor's degree in music
education. Before going into real estate
full time, he taught junior high school in
East Brunswick for 12 years.
First Vice President Drew S. Fishman, CRS,
of Absecon, NJ is a broker/sales associate
at RE/MAX Atlantic in Northfield, NJ.
Fishman has been a REALTOR® since he entered
the real estate business in 1984. He is
listed in the RE/MAX Hall of Fame and was
featured in the Who's Who Registry of
Business Leaders in 2003 and 2005.
Fishman's involvement with the NAR includes
serving as a delegate in 2004 and 2005.
Currently a member of the land use, property
rights & environmental committee, he has
served on the public policy coordinating
committee and the political communications
committee.
An active member of NJAR®, Fishman's
participation at the state level includes
involvement with the bylaws, budget and
finance, communications and public
relations, professional development and the
political affairs committees. Fishman served
as the professional development division
officer in 2003.
In 2004 and 2005, Fishman served as
president of the Atlantic City & County
Board of REALTORS®. At the local level,
Fishman is chair of the nominating committee
and president and director of the South
Jersey Shore Multiple Listing Service. In
1996, the Atlantic City & County Board of
REALTORS® selected Fishman as REALTOR® of
the Year. He was granted the President's
Award in 1995.
A resident of Absecon, NJ, Fishman has
served as chairman of the Absecon planning
board for the past 14 years. Fishman is also
a recipient of the New Jersey Planning
Officials Distinguished Service Award and
has served as director for the organization
since 1995. He was South Jersey Chair from
1998 to 2004. In the community service
arena, Fishman has worked with Habitat for
Humanity, Race for the Cure, Children's
Miracle Network, Gilda's House and
Children's Seashore House.
Treasurer Frank Anthony of Mendham, NJ
received his real estate license in 1981 and
became a licensed broker in 1988. A REALTOR®
since 1998, Anthony is currently a sales
associate at the Coldwell Banker Mendham
Office. Anthony was president of the North
Central Jersey Association of REALTORS® (NCJAR)
in 2002. He has been a member of both the
NJAR® and NCJAR budget and finance committees
and served as NCJAR's treasurer from
1999-2003. Anthony was also a member of
NAR's conventional finance and lending
committee from 2002-2004. Other involvement
with NAR includes serving as a Director
since 2002 and as a member of the state and
local issues committee since 2005.
At the state level, Anthony was the
association operations division officer in
2005. Anthony has served on the legal
affairs, budget and finance, nominating, and
risk management/license law committees.
In 2005, Anthony was secretary of NCJAR.
Other committees he has participated in at
the local level include technology, Multiple
Listing Service advisory, strategic
planning, and building and grounds. He has
also served as an RPAC trustee since 1999.
Over the years, Anthony's community
involvement has included participation in
the Interfaith Food Pantry of Morris County,
the Coldwell Banker/Gilda's Club Fundraiser,
Habitat for Humanity in Newark, and the
Marine Corps. Toys for Tots drives.
The New Jersey Association of REALTORS® is a
non-profit organization serving the
professional needs of approximately 52,000
REALTOR® and REALTOR-ASSOCIATE® members in
the state. REALTOR® is a registered
collective membership mark which may be used
only by real estate professionals who
subscribe to the REALTOR® organization's
strict Code of Ethics and are members of the
National, State and Local REALTOR®
organizations.
