For Immediate Release: New Jersey Association of REALTORS® Reaches 50,000 Member Milestone(Edison, NJ) The New Jersey Association of REALTORS® (NJAR®) proudly announces its membership has surpassed the 50,000 mark. Dues paying membership in NJAR® totaled 52,428 as of September 7, 2005. Membership has increased steadily in recent years; in 2000 membership stood at approximately 34,000. "NJAR®'s rising membership figure clearly indicates more real estate professionals are seeing the value in belonging to the REALTOR® organization," said NJAR® President Mary Davis. "As the Voice for Real Estate in New Jersey, we are advocates for homeownership, affordable housing, fair housing and private property rights. REALTORS® demonstrate their commitment to professionalism and ethical business practices by pledging to uphold the REALTOR® Code of Ethics." NJAR®'s membership is composed of commercial and residential brokers and salespeople, property managers, appraisers, counselors and other real estate professionals who have pledged to subscribe to a strict Code of Ethics. NJAR® supports all segments of its membership, in concert with the local boards and associations of REALTORS® and the National Association of REALTORS®, by developing and delivering programs, services and related products which enhances the ability to conduct business successfully and ethically, and to promote the extension and preservation of the right to own, transfer and use real property. Membership benefits include educational and professional development opportunities, legislative advocacy, online real estate forms, a subscription to New Jersey REALTOR® magazine, and the right to use the term REALTOR®. A REALTOR® is a licensed real estate professional who subscribes to the REALTOR® Code of Ethics and belongs to one of the state's 24 local boards/associations, NJAR® and the National Association of REALTORS®. # # # The New Jersey Association of REALTORS® is a non-profit organization serving the professional needs of approximately 52,000 REALTOR® and REALTOR-ASSOCIATE® members in the state.
