NJ REALTORS® Continue Dialogue to Help Boost Real Estate Market
(Edison, NJ)- In response to Governor Chris Christie’s veto of the New Jersey Home Buyer Tax Credit Program, A-1678, New Jersey Association of REALTORS® (NJAR®) Chief Executive Officer Jarrod C. Grasso, RCE, today issued the following statement:
“Recognizing the extreme economic difficulties New Jersey is currently facing, the New Jersey Association of REALTORS® understands the difficult decision encountered by Governor Christie. We were hopeful that this bill would inject life into the real estate market and provide a boost to the state’s economy.
“We look forward to revisiting this issue or taking part in finding a workable solution to benefit New Jersey’s home buying and selling public. NJAR® will continue the dialogue with the Governor and state Legislators to find solutions to advance New Jersey’s real estate market. To start, other proposed initiatives that will aid current and prospective residents include an elimination of private transfer fees and legislation clarifying the Bulk Sales Act.”
