NEW JERSEY ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS®
LAUNCHES PUBLIC EDUCATION CAMPAIGN:
"Get the REAL Story" on real estate in New Jersey
(Edison, NJ) The New Jersey Association of REALTORS® (NJAR®), a non-profit organization serving the professional needs of approximately 53,000 REALTOR® and REALTOR-ASSOCIATE® members in the state, today launched a public education campaign to highlight the opportunities in New Jersey's real estate market.
The campaign features the theme, "Get the REAL Story" on real estate in New Jersey, and is intended to present an accurate picture of New Jersey's real estate market, while spotlighting the many positive aspects of the current climate for consumers.
"There are a lot of negative misperceptions about real estate right now but every market offers people the opportunity to achieve the American dream of homeownership," said NJAR® Executive Vice President Jarrod C. Grasso, RCE.
"The campaign, through our website, provides a glimpse into why it is a good
time to buy. During this initiative, we are eager to bring valuable data and
statistics to the forefront - to urge people to read beyond the headlines - so
that the public gets better understanding of what is occurring in New Jersey's
marketplace."
The "Get the REAL Story" public education campaign will be delivered through a variety of media, including print, radio and Internet. In addition, REALTORS® throughout the state will be provided with information, tools and resources to assist the home buying and home selling public in making sound decisions and aiding them in understanding their local markets.
The cornerstone of the campaign will be a consumer website - www.REALstoryNJ.com - which will offer national, statewide and localized housing statistics, as well as resources for both sellers and buyers. In addition, the site will provide links that will enable users to search for a REALTOR®, along with access to an abundance of information on how a REALTOR® can help either a buyer or a seller to maximize their success in a real estate transaction.
"REALTORS® are experts on the cities, towns and neighborhoods where they work and live," said 2008 NJAR® President Drew S. Fishman, CRS.
"The diversity of New Jersey's neighborhoods may contribute to housing market conditions varying greatly from place to place. Individuals and families who are thinking about buying or selling a home should contact a local REALTOR®
to find out what opportunities exist in the market where they are looking to
buy or sell. Every market and every transaction is different."
"We believe that by working together with the local and statewide media and by providing them with relevant facts and figures, we can help consumers get a realistic picture of real estate market conditions in the state," noted Grasso.
