NJAR® SEEKS APPLICANTS FOR GOOD NEIGHBOR AWARDS
Awards to Recognize REALTORS®' Volunteerism
(Edison, NJ) The New Jersey Association of
REALTORS® (NJAR®) is currently seeking
nominations for REALTORS® who have acted as
"good neighbors" through their dedication to
community service. The NJAR® Good Neighbor
Awards recognize REALTORS® who do more than
buy and sell real estate by volunteering to
help others. Anyone may nominate a REALTOR®
or REALTOR-ASSOCIATE® who is a member of the
Association in good standing.
"Every day, New Jersey REALTORS® give their
time, talent and energy to help strengthen
their communities," said NJAR® 2008
President Drew Fishman. "They dedicate their
efforts to a large variety of volunteer
projects, including affordable housing
initiatives and college scholarship
programs, but all share the common goal of
working to make a difference."
Winners will receive a grant for their
charity organization of choice in the amount
of $2,500 for first place, $1,500 for
second, or $1,000 for third place. Winners
also receive recognition during an awards
ceremony at the 2008 Triple Play REALTOR®
Convention & Trade Expo in Atlantic City,
December 9-11, 2008. Additionally, winners
will be recognized in the January/February
issue of New Jersey REALTOR® magazine and be
featured on NJAR®'s website
www.njar.com.
"The aim of NJAR®'s Good Neighbor Awards
Program is to celebrate REALTORS® who have
generously given back to their communities,"
Fishman added. "We strongly encourage anyone
to nominate a REALTOR® who has offered a
helping hand to communities and individuals
in need."
All NJAR® Good Neighbor Award entries must
be received by September 12, 2008.
Nominations should include published reports
about the nominee's community work and/or
testimonials from organizations he/she
served. In order to be eligible, an
applicant's community service must have been
conducted, started or completed between
September 1, 2007 and August 31, 2008. All
entries will be evaluated by an independent
panel of judges who have no affiliation to
NJAR®.
