2009 NEW JERSEY ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS® LEADERSHIP TEAM INSTALLED
Diane Dilzell Takes Helm as President
(Atlantic City, NJ) - The New Jersey
Association of REALTORS® (NJAR®) last night
installed its 2009 officers during the
President's Gala at the Triple Play REALTOR®
Convention & Trade Expo.
Leading the approximately 53,000 member
Association as 2009 president will be Diane
Dilzell. Dilzell, who joined the REALTOR®
organization in 1989, is a
broker-associate/manager at Pinnacle,
REALTORS® of Bedminster. In her role as
president, Dilzell will help further NJAR®'s
mission to serve the professional needs of
its members, develop programs and services
to enhance the ability to conduct business
successfully and ethically, and to serve as
an advocate for private property rights and
the real estate industry.
"Now more than ever, NJAR®, as the voice of
real estate in New Jersey, needs to connect
with the home buying and selling public and
provide them with accurate information about
the market," said 2009 NJAR® President Diane
Dilzell. "I look forward to helping our
members meet the challenges ahead by
preparing them to serve their clients when
assessing the many homeownership
opportunities New Jersey has to offer."
Below is a full list of 2009 NJAR® officers.
2009 President Diane Dilzell, CRS, e-PRO
Dilzell, a broker-associate/manager at
Pinnacle, REALTORS® of Bedminster, has been
a member of NJAR® for twenty years. Over the
years, Dilzell has served NJAR® as a
division officer, chairperson, and member of
numerous committees. In addition, she was a
trustee for the NJAR® Educational
Foundation. In 2002, she served as president
of Hunterdon/Somerset Association of
REALTORS® (HSAR) and was selected as HSAR's
REALTOR® of the Year. Dilzell also serves
the REALTOR® organization at the national
level where she is currently a member of the
NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS® (NAR)
housing opportunity committee and an NAR
director. She has also served as president
of the Council of Residential Specialists
New Jersey Chapter and was named New Jersey
CRS of the Year in 2001.
Dilzell is an active volunteer for numerous
organizations throughout Somerset and
Hunterdon counties including Habitat for
Humanity and People for Animals. She also
served as a trustee on the Somerset County
Coalition on Affordable Housing and remains
on as a volunteer. She is an associate
member of the Bedminster-Far Hills First Aid
Squad. Dilzell is a lifelong resident of New
Jersey and has two children.
2009 President-Elect Judy Appleby, ABR,
RSPS, SRES
A REALTOR® since 1978, Appleby is the
broker/owner of Appleby Realty in Seaside
Park, N.J. Throughout the years, Appleby has
served as a NJAR® director, division
officer, and committee chairperson. She has
also served on numerous committees and is
currently a trustee of the NJAR®
Governmental Research Foundation. On a local
level, Judy served as president of the Ocean
County Board of REALTORS® (OCBR) in 2003 and
2006 and was twice named REALTOR® of the
Year. Currently, Appleby is a member of the
NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS® land use,
property rights and environment committee.
2009 First Vice President Allan "Dutch"
Dechert, RSPS
Dechert is the broker/co-owner of Ferguson
Dechert, Inc. in Avalon, N.J. Dechert has
served as a NJAR® director, division
officer, and committee chairperson. In
addition, he served as the president of the
NJAR® Governmental Research Foundation in
2006 and 2007. Locally, Dechert served as
president of the Cape May County Association
of REALTORS®, Inc. and was selected as the
local Association's REALTOR® of the Year in
1990 and again in 2001. He served as a
NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS® director
from 2002 to 2008 and is the immediate past
chair of the NAR resort and second home real
estate committee.
2009 Treasurer Christina Banasiak, CRS,
e-PRO
Banasiak received her real estate license in
1979 and her broker's license in 1982. She
is currently a broker associate at Weichert,
REALTORS®-Marlboro office. Since joining the
REALTOR® organization in 1979, Banasiak has
served the organization in many different
capacities. At the state level, she held the
post of professional conduct division
officer and served on numerous committees
including budget & finance and legal
affairs. Locally, she was elected to serve
as president of the Monmouth County
Association of REALTORS® (MCAR) in 2005 and
2006. Banasiak was named MCAR REALTOR® of
the Year in 1997 and again in 2006.
Currently, she serves the NATIONAL
ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS® as a director and
is a member of the federal taxation
committee.
