WINNERS ANNOUNCED IN ANNUAL
NJAR® FAIR HOUSING POSTER CONTEST
(Edison, NJ) The New Jersey Association of REALTORS® (NJAR®) proudly announces the winners of its annual "Housing for All" Poster Contest. The contest is sponsored each year by the NJAR® Equal Opportunity/Cultural Diversity Committee. Open to students in grades three to six, the contest raises awareness among young students of fair housing laws and everyone's right to equal housing opportunities.
"It is wonderful to have student participation in a contest that seeks to convey the valuable message that everyone deserves equal opportunities in housing," said 2008 NJAR® President Drew Fishman, CRS. "On behalf of NJAR®, I would like to congratulate the winners for illustrating the theme of fair housing in such a creative and thoughtful manner."
Fishman added, "REALTORS® work hard every day to bring attention to the housing issues facing our communities. The poster contest is way to put a spotlight on the challenges that we continue to struggle with and remind everyone that we need to remain committed to eradicating discrimination in all forms."
Through New Jersey's local boards/associations of REALTORS®, students across the state are given the opportunity to illustrate "What equal opportunity in housing means to me" or "Keeping fair housing in mind, what changes would you like to see in your neighborhood?" The posters are then submitted to NJAR® for judging by the Equal Opportunity/Cultural Diversity Committee.
