2010-2011 Legislative
Issues Booklet Available
The NJAR® Legislative Issues Booklet for the upcoming 2010-2011 session of the New Jersey State Legislature is now available at no cost online. This online booklet contains NJAR®'s positions on key issues facing New Jersey that may come before the State Legislature over the next two years. Issues such as property taxes, the realty transfer fee, seasonal rental taxes, eminent domain and potential energy efficiency requirements on homes being sold are among the topics included. NJAR® will use the positions in this book on behalf of private property owners and the real estate industry should these issues come before the State Legislature. NJ REALTORS® Take a Closer Look at Homeownership and Rental Affordability
On June 12, 2009 the GRF unveiled an online, interactive database prepared by the nationally recognized Center for Housing Policy that compares wages for selected occupations with the costs of owning and renting a home. The purpose of the New Jersey specific Paycheck to Paycheck database is to examine housing affordability around the state. NJAREF Scholarships Awarded
On Wednesday, June 17, 2009, The New Jersey Association of REALTORS® Educational Foundation (NJAREF) awarded 40 students with a total of $60,250 in scholarships to use towards furthering their education. Scholarships this year ranged from $1,000 to $2,500 and were presented to recipients at a luncheon ceremony at The Westwood in Garwood, N.J.
